Dowsing features in computer game

A new computer game called Turmoil features dowsing for oil in a simulation of the 19th C oil rush in the Old West. Players can hire a dowser to find oil deposits, before moving on to more sophisticated techniques as they accrue dollars.

The graphics are decidedly 'retro' and it's probably not going to win any awards for gameplay innovation, but it's nice to see this historical dowsing recognised, even if it is only a computer game.

Check out this review video where you can see the dowser in action (he seems to like tying his shoelaces a lot).

I don't think I'll be purchasing it myself, but if you fancy a bit of fun it's available as an 'early access' game (that means it's still under development) on Steam for £6.99.
The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it - Terry Pratchett.
