It has been known for a long time that honey - any honey - has anti-biotic elements!
And it seems that the element comes from the bee itself. In general, the darker the honey, the better its antibacterial and antioxidant power. Even the ancient Egyptians used honey for wounds.

Mind you, we're talking about raw honey here - not the pasteurised kind! I hope that was made clear to the good beekeepers of Wales!
