Conference 2017

Postby Helen-Healing » Fri Aug 25, 2017 2:31 pm

I have signed up for this year's conference in Leicester, and am still trying to get my head around the programme of events!
It keeps mentioning 'see separate sheet' but then I can't find the separate sheet! All very confusing!
Hey ho, I expect I'll get it all sorted once I get there!

I went home early from the conference after discovering that we had to vacate rooms by 10am on the Sunday morning. There was no way I was going to poodle around the very spread out site for 7 hours, without having somewhere to go & rest, or just have time out.

Apart from that, I found many of the talks & workshops quite disappointing (except Grahame's which was excellent). It is one thing to be excellent at what you know & do, but quite another to be able to communicate this well to others. One lady seemed to start sentences but never finish them.

On the other hand, I met a few really interesting people - the Japanese contingent was a jolly lot!

This is just a personal opinion, you understand. :|
